Hydraulic Modeller, Strategic Planning and Optimization Engineer

Andrew Faulkner is a water and wastewater infrastructure planning engineer with over 12 years of experience in water distribution and collection systems modeling, strategic planning, and alternatives analysis. He has worked extensively with high-profile water utilities and engineering consultants.

Throughout his career in the public and private sectors, Andy has primarily specialized in water and wastewater planning with an emphasis on

  • Capital program optimization and prioritization;
  • Construction and calibration of hydraulic models;
  • Detailed planning at both a feasibility and design stage for individual work packages;
  • Preparation of Development Application inputs and the necessary liaisons with relevant stakeholders;
  • Geospatial analysis; and
  • Software programming

Andy joined WCS in 2015 and has the role of Senior Strategic Planning & Optimization Engineer.  He has completed numerous large and complex optimization projects for high-profile clients in Australia, New Zealand, and the United States. Andy is the WCS team leader for water and wastewater modeling development, calibration and capacity assessments, and GIS analysis.

Andy is currently based in central Queensland and leads the hydraulic modelling, product development, and QA/QC at WCS. He enjoys pushing the limits of water / wastewater planning through best-practice technologies in order to deliver innovative and cost-effective solutions to customers in an ever-evolving water industry.
