The objective of the QUU Treatment Plant Catchment Boundary Optimization is to evaluate a broad range of sewerage servicing strategies ranging from its current form (“business-as-usual (BAU) network”) to a relatively centralized scheme, by disregarding existing scheme boundaries and considering inter-catchment flow diversions.  The project provided an indication of which inter-catchment diversion strategies are cost effective, based on high-level generic unit cost rates, and which strategies should be investigated further.
