Andrew Faulkner B. E.

Andrew Rickert joined the WCS Engineering team in 2016 as a junior hydraulic modeler and GIS analyst.  He has extensive experience in natural resource management with a chief focus on catchment management including freshwater, coastal, and marine areas.  At WCS, Andrew has gained substantial experience in water and wastewater hydraulic modeling, GIS analysis, and optimization using Optimizer WCS.

In his previous employment with Bellingen Shire Council, Redland City Council, and Wide Bay Water, Andrew developed an extensive skill set and demonstrated success in working with a range of stakeholders including government, agricultural enterprises, industry, educational/research institutes, and the broader community.  

Andrew Faulkner is a water and wastewater infrastructure planning engineer with over 9 years of experience in water distribution and collection systems modeling, strategic planning, and alternatives analysis.  In his previous employments, Andy gained extensive modeling and GIS analysis experience with large engineering consultants and water utilities. 

Andy joined WCS in 2014 and has the role of Senior Strategic Planning & Optimization Engineer.  He has completed several large and complex wastewater optimization projects for high-profile clients in Australia, New Zealand, and the United States. Andrew is the WCS team leader for water and wastewater model development, calibration and capacity assessments, GIS analysis, Optimization QA/QC and software programming. 

Mike Canning, based in Chicago, has more than 23 years of experience as a manager and engineer in water and wastewater hydraulic modeling, master planning, and optimization.  Mike has worked with WCS Engineering since 2011, and is currently the Water Optimization Team Leader.

Mike was Regional Manager and Senior Engineer in Optimatics’ Chicago office from 2003 to 2010.  In these roles he managed water and wastewater optimization studies, provided quality control for reports and proposals, and contributed to business development.

Prior to Optimatics, Mike was Midwest District Manager for Pitometer / Severn Trent in Chicago and Service Group Manager for Pitometer’s Hydraulic Modeling Group.  The first six years of his career were spent in the Philadelphia (PA) area as a project manager and planning engineer with Acer Engineers and Consultants (now ARRO Consulting).

Michael E. Canning, P.E.

David Garcia, based in Dallas, has more than 11 years' experience as a collection systems infrastructure planning engineer.  He has diverse experience and mastery in hydraulic modeling, strategic master planning, flow analysis, asset management, and condition assessment.

David began his career performing condition assessment and flow monitoring. He brings the unique perspective of his field experience to strategic planning and alternatives analysis. In 2007, David received specialist hydraulic modeling training from experts in Melbourne, Australia.

During his employment with Black and Veatch and RJN Group, he acquired extensive experience calibrating models, evaluating alternatives, and developing LTCPs. David has been lead hydraulic modeler and project engineer for several large consent decree programs across the southern United States.   In 2017, David joined WCS Engineering to lead the US business practice.

Joel Wilson is a collection systems planning specialist and industry leader in optimization.  He has over 15 years of diverse experience in wastewater collection systems modeling, strategic planning, alternatives analysis, and optimization.
In 2006, Optimatics engaged Joel to lead the development and implementation of their wastewater optimization software – Optimizer WCS.   In 2011, Joel founded WCS Engineering.  He has completed more projects using Optimizer WCS than anyone else worldwide and is regarded as the industry-leading specialist in this field.  Joel has an excellent record of consistent and reliable project delivery through effective teaming with other industry professionals.
